The pressure of making the most of the powerplay overs got to the openers- Hayley Matthews and Sajeevan Sajana- as both got out in the final two overs of the powerplay. However, the wicket that pushed MI on the backfoot was of Nat Sciver-Brunt. Devine got the prized scalp of Sciver-Brunt, leaving Mumbai in trouble at 37/3 after 6.5 overs. Captain Harmanpreet provided the innings some stability, first with Amelia Kerr and then with Amanjot Kaur. While wickets kept falling at one end, Kaur did not slow down and fought till the last over. The Mumbai Indians eventually fell short by 11 runs. Harmanpreet went unbeaten at 82* off 48. Wareham, who scored 44 runs with the bat, took two wickets as well and therefore was adjudged the player of the match.Despite the loss, the Mumbai Indians' campaign is not over yet.
